Dressed For Loneliness

There are days when you wake up and realise the busy schedule has somehow sneaked up on you and you haven't done something you enjoy for a long while. You don't even realise the hours are tumbling past you. You sit half-dressed and not even a little bit ready to go out and do your daily work. You start compartmentalising everything in your head. You just want to sit and enjoy the things you love most. Some times I just want to scream out because I haven't talked in a while..nothing worthwhile anyway..not to someone I wanted to talk to anyway...I hunger for new things, excitement, the routine bores me and leaves me drained of all energy and inspiration. I have failed to run with others and I have found my own pace. It doesn't fall into a perfect rhythm with anyone but it does 95% (according to that person it's only 50%) of the time with someone I know. I cannot run away from who I am and I cannot force myself to be someone I cannot ever be. I may be an utter failure in life because of this or a penniless, mad, homeless outcast; a hippie even maybe. I will be happy as long as I walk at my own pace and I know that.

"The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them - words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they’re brought out. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you’ve said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That’s the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller, but for want of an understanding ear." -Stephen King  (via wakeupinfrance)

    4. Film studies sounds super interesting...I'd love to know more about your course...Have you ever made a post on your recommendation for movies??? Any fave Bengali movies??? I want to show my boy-friend some but don't know which ones...If you had someone who had no idea about our culture and had never been to India what would you recommend for them?

    5. i had this album on FB but then i hid it ,i have mentioned a few films in the past over here..
i would steer clear of the new movies you know..introduce him with satyajit ray..pather panchali, deya neya, paromitar ek din, golpo holeo shotti, teni da..bengali films have some of the best comedy films..like those bhanu banerjee films like swarga martya...goopi bagha series, the classics you know ..would be a good way of introducing him to bengali films..ogo bodhu shundori, charulata, meghe dhaka tara, swet patharer thala, khudito pashaan...i haven't seen that many bengali films but these are all i can think of right now....too many nah!?

  5. You have no idea how much I understand this ... I find that people who just want wealth and power have it so much easier. I mean, they don't demand so much out of life. (Just wealth and power.) But there are those of us for whom tiny intangibles matter so much. Like I was just explaining to my cousin how much I loved calligraphy as a child, and how that led to a fascination for medieval illuminations, Gregorian chants, European history, etc. To practical minds, all that would have been a waste of time. Can't earn you a living, right? For me, it's what makes life beautiful and worth living. Mere existence is just not enough.

  9. Sometimes its difficult to keep up with so many things, its difficult to shoe gratitude in return and thats when it starts getting drowning upon us.

  16. Debi, I can certainly understand this post. I live alone, and while I am busy at the office and I come home after a long day, on some days I wish I had someone to talk to. Other days I want to be left alone..and work on other things...like my blog. I've never questioned you being the type of person who marches to the beat of her own drum!

BTW, have you ever visited this blog? La Dolce Vita? I think you may enjoy this lady's posts, her writing is philisophical and she is an avid photographer as well! Check it out here, http://itssanghamitra.blogspot.com/
